MEMO REGARDING PLAYOFFS AND YEAR END EVENTS

Ringette PEI Association members,

We know right now the ringette season is starting to resemble last year's abrupt end due to COVID-19. All ringette athletes, coaches, officials, and parents should know that the Ringette PEI Director of Competitions with support from the board, is developing different playoff scenarios for each age division. If the Circuit Breaker measures are lifted on Sunday, March 14th and we can return to game play, teams will be moving straight into playoffs.

Although these playoffs may not look the same as past seasons, each team will still be given the opportunity to finish out their season, whether this is playing in elimination games, moving right into the playoff brackets, or participating in the U10 Jamboree. More details on how these playoffs will look for each division will come early next week. Schedules won't be finalized until we better understand the standings for each division as well as the COVID-19 situation on the Island. The U10 Jamboree has been rescheduled for March 20th and 21st in Georgetown. The schedule for this event will be updated and circulated next week as well.

We really want to try our best to provide a positive end of season for all of our athletes. We will require the support and understanding from all ringette members as we work to provide this positive experience for what has been an unusual and uncertain ringette season.

Thank you,
Victoria Leard RPEI Executive Director
