ENTERING THE FACILITY - GENERAL:
  • Everyone entering the Eastern Kings Sportsplex is REQUIRED to wear a non-medical face mask. If you do not have a mask, you will not be permitted in the facility.
  • Contact tracing is to take place at the entrance of the Sportsplex. The visiting team and home team are required to each provide a contract tracer.
  • The home team contact tracer is required to be present for tracing for the duration of the scheduled ice time (practices and games), until the contact tracer for the next ice session arrives.
  • All paper copies of the contact tracing sheet (visitor and home) are passed into the rink once contact tracing sheets are complete.
  • All players are strongly encouraged to arrive wearing their gear (required for u12 and under).
  • Please follow signage within the facility.
  • ALL people exiting the facility will exit through the side exit door at the designated times.
WHILE IN THE FACILITY:
Players (coaches/managers)
  • Players and coaches should arrive 30 minutes before the start of their ice time.
  • Players and coaches are not permitted to enter until their team’s contact tracer has arrived.
  • Masks are required to be worn by players & coaches until they put on their helmets.
  • During games, coaches/managers are required to wear a mask
  • The contact tracing person will direct the players/teams entering to the correct zone (dressing rooms).
  • Players are to go directly to their assigned dressing room. Parents are NOT permitted in the dressing room zone. Players must stay in their dressing room unless they need to use the washroom.
  • Players can only exit their dressing room to go on the ice when directed by rink staff. (The team will only be allowed onto the ice when the previous team has exited the ice surface, is in their dressing room, and the ice has been flooded).
  • After the ice session, players must stay in the dressing room until directed by the rink staff that they can exit. They must be ready to leave within 15 minutes of coming off the ice. (The team is only allowed to exit the dressing room once the next team is on the ice.)
  • During games, if a player exits the ice surface before the game ends, the player is required to go directly to their dressing room and remain in this zone until their team joins them.
  • There is one washroom available to players/coaches.

Parents/spectators
  • There are two cohorts of spectators - zone 3 and zone 4.
  • Spectators in zone 3 will enter the facility first - 5 minutes before the start of the ice time. Once ALL spectators in zone 3 have entered the facility, spectators in zone 4 will be granted access.
  • Spectators in zone 4 must exit as soon as the game is over. Zone 3 spectators will be permitted to exit ONLY once all spectators from zone 4 have exited. Do not crowd in lobbies or common areas.
  • Please follow signage within the facility and go directly to the spectator zones.
  • There is a washroom available.
  •  It is preferred (not required) that spectators stay in the facility during the ice session.
  • Spectators are required to wear a mask and maintain a physical distance of 6 feet from other parents during the session. This includes while seated.
  • There are X’s or Stickers placed throughout the spectator zones to facilitate social distancing. Spectators are required to sit or stand on these markings.

Zones within Eastern Kings Sportsplex
  • There are four zones within the facility
    • Zone 1: Ice surface/ benches - capacity of 50 people
    • Zone 2: Dressing Rooms - capacity 50 people
    • Zone 3: Spectator section of stands closest to the scoreboard - capacity of 50 people
    • Zone 4: Spectator section of stands closest to the canteen - capacity of 50 people
  • The dressing room zone and the ice surface/bench zone are only for players/coaches. NO parents are allowed in this zone unless identified as a helper to the team. Persons doing the game sheet, scoreboard and shot clock would be considered in this group and are required to wear a mask.
  • There is no crossing over between zones
